PRP Treatment in Winnipeg

SKIN Clinics Winnipeg offers PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and acne scarring, administered by our dermatologist-led team at our South Osborne clinic. PRP uses a concentrated sample of your own blood platelets, containing 3x the platelet concentration of whole blood, to stimulate your skin’s natural collagen production. No synthetic substances. Whether your goal is addressing fine lines, skin texture, thinning hair, or under-eye hollowing, PRP is one of the most effective natural treatment options available, delivered by a team that specializes exclusively in skin, hair, and nails.

What Is PRP Treatment?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a concentrated sample of your own blood platelets to stimulate collagen production and skin renewal. A small blood draw is processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma, what we call liquid gold, which is then delivered into your skin via microneedling, Beauty Booster device, or direct injection. Because the plasma comes from your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction and no foreign substances are introduced.

What Can PRP Treat?

At our Winnipeg clinic, PRP is used to address a wide range of skin and hair concerns.

Skin (PRP Facial)

+ Fine lines and wrinkles
+ Skin laxity and loss of firmness
+ Uneven skin texture and tone
+ Acne scarring
+ Melasma and brown spots
+ Dull or tired-looking skin
+ Tear troughs (under-eye hollowing)
+ Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
+ Neck and decolletage

Hair (PRP Scalp)

+ Early-stage hair thinning in men and women
+ Androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss)
+ Hair density and follicle health
+ Natural complement to topical treatments such as minoxidil

PRP is also used alongside microneedling, laser treatments, and other cosmetic procedures to amplify results and accelerate healing.

How PRP Treatment Works

StepProcessWhat HappensTime / Notes
Step 1Blood DrawA small amount of blood is taken from your arm, similar to a routine lab test.Less than 5 minutes
Step 2Centrifuge ProcessingYour blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells. This creates a concentrated solution with up to 3x the platelets, rich in growth factors that support skin and follicle repair.Quick, done during appointment
Step 3ApplicationPRP is applied using microneedling (most common for facial rejuvenation), a Beauty Booster device, or manual injection for areas like the scalp, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, and scarring.Method depends on treatment area and goals

The full appointment takes approximately one hour.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Before Your Appointment

For PRP Facial:

+ Fill out your Health History/Intake form before arriving, or come 15 minutes early

+ Eat a light snack or meal 30 to 60 minutes beforehand

+ Drink 2 to 4 glasses of water in the hours before your session to support blood draw quality and plasma concentration

+ Let us know if you have a history of cold sores so we can arrange prophylactic antiviral medication in advance

+ Avoid blood-thinning agents for one week prior: alcohol, NSAIDs (Advil, Aspirin), vitamin E, green tea, and fish oils, unless medically necessary

For PRP Scalp (all of the above, plus):

+ Come with freshly washed hair
+ Avoid alcohol and smoking for 24 hours before your appointment
+ Tylenol may be taken before your session for pain management

After Your Appointment

Skin or scalp will feel tighter and may appear red for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid water and heat on the treated area for five hours post-treatment. Continue avoiding alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications for 48 hours, as these interfere with the natural inflammatory process that drives your results.
