PRP Scalp Treatment

PRP for the scalp is a powerful, natural option for its ability to stimulate and support hair growth as a result of early-onset thinning hair in men and women due to the natural aging process, metabolic processes, or genetics. Before treatment, we recommend booking a complimentary consult with one of our providers to determine the cause of initial hair loss and assess if you will benefit from a PRP Scalp treatment.

Get The Fact

The growth-promoting properties of PRP help accelerate the repair of aged and damaged follicles to encourage hair re-growth. PRP can either be manually injected or with Beauty Booster into targeted areas of the scalp. A series of at least 3 treatments, spaced one month apart, is required for optimal results. Treatment may need to be repeated yearly to maintain results.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Who would benefit from a PRP Scalp treatment?

PRP is an amazing option to encourage hair growth for patients who have exhausted all of their options or want to add another treatment to their hair restoration journey. It can be helpful for people who choose not to take prescribed medications or someone who is not a candidate for a hair transplant. We recommend booking a complimentary consult with one of our providers to best assess if you are a candidate for a PRP Scalp treatment.

+ How Should I Prepare for a PRP Scalp Treatment?

For about a week before treatment, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning agents (alcohol, NSAID medications, green tea, vitamin E, and fish oils) unless medically necessary to decrease the amount of bleeding during treatment. Staying hydrated will help with the blood draw and also improves the quality of your plasma. On the day of treatment, plan to arrive with clean hair free of any products.

+ Is there downtime after a PRP Scalp treatment?

The downtime is very minimal. Many patients resume their activities of daily living after receiving treatment. Some patients report tenderness of the scalp post-treatment for which Tylenol can be taken if necessary.

What other PRP treatment are available at SKIN Clinics?
Can PRP scalp treatment be combined with other hair loss treatments?

Yes, PRP scalp treatment can be combined with other hair loss treatments such as topical medications (e.g., minoxidil) or hair transplant procedures. Combining treatments may enhance the overall results and improve hair growth.

How soon can results be seen after PRP scalp treatment?

Results vary from person to person, but most individuals start to notice improvements in hair thickness and density within 3 to 6 months after completing the initial series of treatments.
