Why Microneedling
Microneedling paired with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is quickly becoming one of the most popular procedures, among clients and staff at Skin Clinics. Microneedling paired with PRP is a collagen-stimulating treatment can be used to address signs of aging, scarring and for overall skin rejuvenation. It’s a standard treatment for fine lines, crepey skin, textural issues, pigmentation, dull complexion, acne scarring, and stretch marks. It does it all.
What is Microneedling
Microneedling is a safe procedure that creates microscopic injuries in the surface of your skin tissue. These tiny wounds stimulate your body’s own healing response and ability to regenerate itself. Your natural repair system boosts collagen production and stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells. As new skin cells continue to develop in the weeks after treatment, they replace old cells that no longer support your skin.
What is PRP
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood and is chock-full of growth factors that are responsible for healing and stimulating collagen. No wonder it’s also called Liquid Gold! While microneedling can be done on its own, the addition of PRP takes the procedure to the next level, enhancing results, speeding up the healing process and boosting cellular renewal. It results in brighter skin that looks and feels younger.
Microneedling for skin Aging
As we age, the production of the fibroblast cells that stimulate the growth of the collagen and elastin diminishes, which results in the appearance of wrinkles, and fine lines, and sagging skin. Skin needling triggers the growth of fibroblast cells that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This can help with the appearance of aging and result in brighter, healthier looking skin.
Microneedling for Scarring
Microneedling can also address scarring (acne, surgical and stretchmarks) by breaking up scar tissue and encouraging the growth of new skin and collagen. Treatment is not only restricted to the face, but can also be performed on almost all areas of the body.
Treatment
PRP and Microneedling treatments are fairly quick with minimal discomfort during treatment. Following your session, it’s normal to have temporary redness and mild swelling in the treatment area, which resolves on its own. You may wish to delay social activities for a day or two until redness resolves, but you can expect to get right back to your everyday activities in 24 to 48 hours.
