Understanding How Benign Lesion Removal Works
Benign Lesion Removal is a non-invasive laser therapy that uses specific wavelengths to reduce the size, appearance, and depth of lesions by repairing and regenerating skin cells. We require lesions to be cleared by a physician before your consultation. Once your lesion has been diagnosed as benign, we can remove the spot using the laser.

- Make sure the treatment area is clean and free of makeup, lotion, oils, self-tanning products, and deodorant.

Frequently Asked Questions
+ How do I prepare for a Benign Lesion Removal?
Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, waxing, chemical peels, or collagen injections for two weeks before your appointment. Keep the treatment area clean and free of irritants such as perfumes, deodorants, and harsh skincare products. Refrain from taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, or herbal supplements before treatment, as they can increase bleeding risk.
+ How do I know if I have a lesion?
A skin lesion might stand out as a flat or raised mark, differing in colour or texture from your usual skin. It could resemble a mole, skin tag, or small bump. Our expert dermatology team is ready to evaluate and determine if it’s benign and suitable for laser removal.

+ What is considered a benign lesion?
A benign lesion is a non-cancerous growth or area of abnormal tissue that does not spread to other parts of the body. Common examples include moles, cherry angiomas, cysts, and seborrheic keratoses. These are generally harmless but can be removed for comfort or aesthetic reasons.
+Is Benign Lesion Removal covered by medical insurance?
No. Because this is a cosmetic treatment, most insurance providers do not cover the cost of benign lesion removal. However, clients choose SKIN Clinics for the expertise of our dermatologist-led team and the lasting, natural-looking results achieved through our laser technology.
+ Will the benign lesion grow back after removal?
Most benign lesions do not grow back once completely removed. Some types, like seborrheic keratoses or cherry angiomas, can occasionally recur due to skin regeneration, but follow-up care helps maintain clear results.
+ How long does it take to recover from benign lesion removal?
Recovery varies depending on the size and location of the lesion. In most cases, healing occurs within a few weeks, during which the area may scab or lightly crust. Following your post-care instructions ensures proper healing and minimal scarring.
+ Is laser lesion removal painful?
Clients often describe the sensation as a mild stinging or warmth during the procedure. At SKIN Clinics, our experts prioritize comfort and use cooling techniques to ensure a smooth, gentle experience throughout your treatment.
+ How many treatments will I need?
Clients often see noticeable results after just one to three sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart. The exact number of treatments depends on the lesion’s type and depth, as well as your skin’s healing response.
+ Why should I have my lesion removed by a dermatologist?
Trust SKIN Clinics for safe and precise mole or skin tag removal. Our expert dermatologists thoroughly evaluate each lesion to confirm it’s benign and ideal for laser treatment, all while preserving your skin’s health and integrity.
