The gentle Glow Peel uses a proprietary blend of 12% glycolic acid, and 2% phytic acid, with niacinamide and sage to encourage exfoliation and cell renewal. Increased cell renewal reveals healthier, smoother looking skin.

Pre-Treatment

Before you Arrive:
+ Please ensure you have filled out your Health History/Intake form before your appointment. If you are unable to complete it, please arrive 15 minutes early

How to Prepare:
+ Though it’s not necessary to come make-up-free, consider arriving to your appointment with a bare face
+ Daily SPF application is recommended

What to avoid:
We recommend avoiding the following:
+ Neuromodulator treatment for a minimum of 2 weeks (these treatments can be done on the same day, as long as the Neuromodulator treatment is after the facial)
+ Filler for at least 4 weeks prior
+ Applying exfoliants or actives such as AHA/BHAs, Retinol, Hydroquinone, Benzyl Peroxide, etc. for 5 days prior depending on skin sensitivity
+ Excessive sun exposure 2 weeks prior
+ Waxing or shaving the treatment area 5 days prior
+ Must be off of oral isotretinoin (Accutane) for a minimum of 6 months prior
+ Is it our policy to not provide treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Post-Treatment

Downtime:
+ Minor redness to the treated area is normal
+ Depending on skin sensitivity, some may experience minor irritation that should resolve in 12-72 hours
+ The peel will increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so daily SPF application is recommended

What to Avoid:
Please avoid the following:
+ Excessive exposure to sunlight for 2 weeks
+ Excessive exposure to heat for 24 hours
+ No makeup over the treatment area for 12-24 hours
+ Applying actives (AHA/BHAs, Retinol, Hydroquinone, Benzyl Peroxide, etc.) for 5 days, depending on skin sensitivity
+ Laser treatments for 2-4 weeks

Follow Up:
+ Depending on skin concerns, a series of 3 treatments, about 4-6 weeks apart may be recommended
+ Once the initial series is complete and desired outcome has been reached, maintenance treatments can be done as often as you wish throughout the year to continue collagen rejuvenation and support overall skin restoration and health

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How many Glow Peels are needed for optimal results?

A series of 3-6 chemical peels are typically recommended to achieve desirable results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

+ What Reasons Can Make me Ineligible for the Glow Peel?

Contraindications include pregnancy and breastfeeding, active cold sores, warts, wounds, sunburns, excessive sensitivity, and dermatitis in the treatment area. The Glow Peel is also not recommended if you have taken oral isotretinoin in the past year.

+ What to Expect During a Peel Procedure?

A spa-like treatment with a little spice! You may feel a warm, tingling sensation during the application of the peel solution. Additional layers of the peel will be applied to your skin depending on your skin goals, sensitivity and areas of concern. Retinol Boosters are an option to increase the peeling, flaking, and shedding of dead skin cells. A soothing masque is applied post-procedure to calm and hydrate the skin. Your technician will then select products specific to your concerns and educate you on the proper application of each.

+ Should I keep up with Glow Peel treatments?

Continued chemical peels are recommended to improve skin strength, functionality, tolerability, and increase cellular turn over over time. If your skin can tolerate it, you may “graduate” to one of the higher strength peels we offer.

+ Can I combine glow peel treatments with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes, glow peel treatments can be combined with other cosmetic procedures. However, it’s crucial to consult with our skin experts to determine the appropriate timing and combination of treatments based on your individual needs and skin condition.

+ Can anyone get a glow peel treatment?

Glow peel treatments are generally safe for most skin types and tones. However, individuals with certain skin conditions, such as active infections, severe eczema, or dermatitis, may not be suitable candidates. It’s best to consult with our skin experts or dermatologist to determine if a glow peel treatment is appropriate for you.
